At Dow Rocks, we understand that all good projects start with the right materials – delivered safely and efficiently, right where you need them. Skip the trailer and save yourself the hassle of unloading it by yourself by letting our expert drivers dump and spread products for you. Whether you’re refinishing your driveway or simply refreshing some pathways for summer, we have a gravel delivery truck option for whatever plans you have in mind.
Small Truck: F-350 Flatbed
Don’t have access to a truck or trailer? No need to worry, our flatbed dually is ideal for small projects or residential areas for those looking for a small load delivered. This truck can hold approximately 2 tons of material. It’s the perfect size for a garden refresh, decorative rock for landscaping, or smaller gravel deliveries to fill in those pesky potholes on your driveway. This can also be a great option for tighter or narrow access points (like alley-ways or gates) as it can typically deliver to areas a larger truck simply can’t reach.
Mid-Size Truck: F-750
For mid-size projects, like building gravel walkways, seating areas, or creating a water feature, our F-750 can hold 8 tons of material. This truck is better for properties that may have overhead obstacles, like powerlines or branches, with 16 feet of clearance. It’s a good middle ground if you’re not sure a small truck is enough but don’t need quite a full dump truck load.
Large Bulk Delivery: Dump Truck
Our bulk dump trucks can hold up to 15 tons of material. This delivery truck is usually the best option for new builds, long gravel driveways, commercial projects, or large-scale orders.
If site conditions are right, our bulk delivery truck can spread material loads for no extra charge! The driver can lift the truck bed and set the chain, laying down an about 2-3″ layer of material. We always like to point out that spreading is at our driver’s discretion and availability will depend on site access (no overheads, low hanging branches, or steep slopes/grades).
Our delivery team at Dow Rocks is quick, efficient, and equipped with many options to meet your delivery needs. Whether you need residential deliveries or a bulk order, we have the truck for you. Fill us in on your project at hand and we can help with product selection, scheduling and have a truck on its way!
Frequently Asked Gravel Delivery Questions
How much gravel do I need?
We typically start by calculating how many cubic yards you need, and then converting that into tons. You will need your length (ft), width (ft), and depth (in) measurements. Check out our material calculator (you may need to scroll a bit) to input this information and calculate it for you. You can also give us a call at 509-235-4511 to have one of our Sales Associates walk you through the measurements. A typical yard of gravel is going to way approximately 1.25 tons, on average.
What is the best type of gravel to get delivered for my driveway?
This depends! For muddier or looser driveways, you may want a larger crush such as our 1.25″ Crushed Gravel. The larger pieces will help provide some structure to the loose compaction. On the other hand, if your driveway is already pretty hard and compacted, you may want a smaller crush such as our 5/8″ Crushed. This is the spec for county gravel roads. If you’re not sure, just give our office a call at 509-235-4511. One of our Sales Associates would be happy to walk you through your options!
Do I need to be home for the gravel delivery?
Being on site is preferred as it eliminates any room for error in placing the product in an undesired location. However, if you are unable to be there, please clearly mark out a space with ground paint, signs, tarps, arrows, or other markers so the driver has a clear picture of where to place the product!
Can you spread the gravel for me?
Yes! Our drivers can spread gravel orders, as long as the site conditions are appropriate. However, preads are available for gravel deliveries only. Conditions require and existing driveway or long pad to spread over top of. As long as there are no overheads (powerlines, trees, gates, etc) or steep grades or inclines, they should be able to spread about 2-3″ on top of your existing base. This is not a road building service. For inquiries about road building, grading, or other equipment work, check out our services, or reach out to us at 509-235-4511!
What materials can you deliver besides gravel?
We offer a wide selection of barks, soils, sands, gravels, and decorative rocks. You can view all of our products here!
